Question by : Is a hard back brace any good?
I had surgery for a herniated disc (L4-L5) a year or so ago. I also have borderline medium Idiopathic scoliosis. Not to mention I have the worst posture on this planet. I feel like a hard back brace may be nice. My back aches a lot, and gets tired easily, even after year+ of physical therapy. Would a hard back brace be an option? would it help? (I know you’re not my doctor but I still want your input). Is it something to ask my doctor or am I way off?
Just random other info
I’m kinda on the tallish side (5’6ish) and I am in high school.
Also I understand a brace could be a pain and inconvenient to wear but I don’t mind. I kinda see it as a protective shell almost.
Anyways um thanks.
I would know a pinched nerve and that has nothing to do with a back brace… >.<

tight and pinched muscles are causing your back pains. Pinched muscles pull on the vertebrae hard enough and long enough to cause disc failure. Freeing up your back muscles gets rid of the pinched muscles so you can be pain free. Some with scoliosis have found enough relief with this that they opted out of surgery for it. Here’s how to free up the muscles to give you relief to your back muscles:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Hello,
I can feel what you are going through. Taking care of our posture is essential to good health. Posture brace helps in correcting poor posture and alleviating body aches like back pain, neck and shoulder pain. It supports gives support to our spine and also to the lower back muscle.
I hope it helps you.
Virtually all of the current data shows scoliosis brace treatment (of any kind) has absolutely no effect on the condition or the curve.
Forget the Hard braces. Now there is a new soft scoliosis brace treatment called spinecor. If you want more information go to http://www.scoliosisspecialists.com/
